She is working towards a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Sports Management with a concentration in Human Performance and Health, Physical Education and Recreation. Mrs. Collins-Sharp is a member of North American Society for Sport Management, Shape America (formerly the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance, AAHPERD) and other social and faith-based organizations. She is married to Reggie Sharp and has two children, Sidney and Reginald, II. Ms. Davis is graduate of Shaw University where she received her bachelor's degree. She earned her master's degree from North Carolina Central University in Durham, NC. She is a very social person and has a passion for parks and recreation. She enjoys talking to people, helping people and being active. The greatest asset she offers is her ability to work with many personalities and groups of people. Ms. Davis realizes just how valuable that is when working in a public field environment, especially in a classroom setting. She is originally from Arizona, and received her Bachelor’s degree in Speech Language and Hearing sciences from the University of Arizona. She relocated to North Carolina, and received her Doctor of Audiology degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, receiving both the LEND grant and the Pediatric Training grant. Prior to starting at a private practice in Raleigh, she completed her internship at the Durham VA Medical Center. Dr. Kyman is passionate about global audiology, and has volunteered in Guatemala and Brazil on audiology missions. When not teaching or practicing in the clinic, she can often be found outdoors with her dog hiking, camping, or rock climbing. Dr. Kyman lives in Durham, NC. Mr. Lesane is a proud alumnus of Shaw University where he earned my bachelor's degree in athletic training in 2012. He earned a master’s degree in Recreation Administration in 2016 from North Carolina Central University in Durham, NC. His motto is “If I grow, you grow” meaning that shared knowledge between the minds helps us grow. Mr. Lesane is an adjunct professor for the Division of Health Human Sciences. He is also a teacher's assistant and assistant football coach at Athens Drive Magnet High School Center for Medical Sciences and Global Health Initiatives. He has coached softball at Saint Mary’s School since 2012, and in his free time enjoys fishing, shooting pool, bowling, riding four wheelers, grilling, reading and watching football. He earned a Master of Science degree in Physical Education from North Carolina Central University (1994) and 18 graduate hours in Recreation Resources Administration from North Carolina State University. He has over 25 years of teaching experience. He spent four years in the public school system and four years at St. Augustine University before joining the Shaw University family in 1997. Mr. Marriott takes pride in working with youth and young adults. He has serves the community in several capacities and is the founder and director of the Chavis Heights Summer Basketball League. His responsibilities are to assist with administrative duties, as well as evaluation and treatment of injuries. Mr. Outlaw received his bachelor’s degree in athletic training in 2014 from North Carolina Central University and worked as a graduate assistant at NCCU. He earned his master’s degree in athletic administration in May 2016. Originally from Watertown, NY, Mr. Outlaw has lived in North Carolina for over 25 years. Dr. Willis was honored and invited to attend the Oxford Roundtable in Oxford, England. She has taught Sports Marketing and Sports Law at the University of Washington Seattle and Sports Marketing and Media in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, at the UAE Futbol Association. In 2001, she received her Masters of Education from North Carolina Central University in Communication Disorders. Her thesis project was on African American’s attitudes toward Trinidadian English Dialect. Dr. Raynor completed her Doctorate of Speech-language Pathology in 2008 from Nova Southeastern University. In 2009, she published her dissertation entitled, "Training Caregivers in Feeding Geriatric Residents with Developmental Cognitive Deficits and Dysphagia". Her research interests include receptive and expressive language disorders in preschool aged children and the development of literacy skills in school-aged children in rural areas. Suau, Ph.D., Program Coordinator (Recreation Management)/Assistant Professor of Recreation Management Dr. Luis J. Suau, received his bachelor’s degree in Biology and Environmental Sciences from The Inter-American University in San German, P.R., his master’s degree in the Department of Forest, Resources and Conservation at University of Florida and his Ph.D. in the Department of Tourism, Recreation and Sport Management at the University of Florida. His dissertation, “The Influence of Perception of Crime on Outdoor Physical Activity around Parks in Hispanic Communities,” focused on how fear of crime affects participation in physical activity. After graduation Dr. Suau served as a postdoctoral fellow at North Carolina State University. Currently, Dr. Suau works full-time at Shaw University as associate professor for the Division of health and Human Sciences. He has authored numerous publications on determinants of racial and ethnic disparities in physical activity, energy expenditure, obesity and recreational park use. Mr. Wedderburn has experience working as certified athletic trainer on both the high school and collegiate levels.
