PRE-CANDIDACY APPLICATION & PORTFOLIO CHECKLIST
To be completed by student’s faculty advisor and submitted with application to the TEC Coordinator. 

ADMISSION TO THE TEACHER EDUCATION PROGRAM
Admission to Teacher Education is open to all Shaw University students who meet the standards established by the Shaw University Teacher Education Council (TEC). Because there are a number of specific teacher education requirements within the general education requirements of the university, students seeking licensure who apply early for admission to the Teacher Education Program have an advantage in scheduling and may be able to reduce the time required to complete the degree program and licensing program. 

TRANSITIONAL POINTS DIAGRAM
To be eligible for admission to pre-candidacy, a student must complete at least 24 credit hours including EDU 115: Introduction to Teaching. In addition, students must have completed a Professional Disposition Assessment (to be completed by faculty member and by the student).
