Seventh Annual Dr. Fred J. Long Medical Research Symposium and Luncheon

March 23-24, 2018

We invite you to attend the seventh annual Dr. Fred J. Long Medical Symposium and Luncheon. When the Dr. Fred J. Long Lecture and Luncheon began in 2010, its goals were to help raise health awareness among the African American community, expose college students to the career possibilities in the health professions and raise funds for student scholarships. Today, the Dr. Fred J.Long Medical Symposium and Luncheon continues to educate while commemorating Dr. Long’s commitment to Shaw, his profession and his community. We are pleased to announce that the lecture and luncheon now includes a multidisciplinary student research symposium focused on wellness.

We hope you can join us for the student oral and poster research presentations and for both the lecture and luncheon. The research presentations and lecture are offered at no cost. The lecture will feature medical panelists discussing the theme “Our Thoughts Influence Our Behavior: What Are You Thinking? Mental Health Matters’.” Immediately following the lecture, we hope that you will join us for the luncheon where we will continue the conversation. Tickets to the luncheon are $50.
