Donation Expands Religious Reading Catalog

Shaw University recently received a donation of 500 books from the personal library of theologian and philosopher, Reverend Milton P. Snyder. The donation will expand the University’s library catalog of diverse religious reading.

Peter J. Chamberlain, the great-great-grandson of Shaw University founder Dr. Henry Martin Tupper, and Joseph “Joe” Jackson, president of the Greater Atlanta Alumni Chapter of Shaw University collaborated to facilitate the donation of the collection.

"Receiving a volume like this, helps to facilitate learning, allows students to serve God and their communities, and helps students develop the capacity for analysis, critical thinking and writing,” said Dr. Cheryl Kirk-Duggan, Professor of Religion.

Students can find the volume in the James E. Cheek Learning and Resource Center, the main library on campus.
