Shaw Alum Sings at Governor’s Mansion

December 29, 2011 – North Carolina Governor Bev Perdue hosted Shaw alumnus Corey Leake ‘08 along with members of the Martin Luther King, Jr. State Employee’s Choir during a holiday celebration at the Executive Mansion. Leake sang Roland Carter’s arrangement of “Is There Anybody Here Who Loves My Jesus?” The impromptu performance concluded with Leake’s signature song, “Proclaim God’s Marvelous Deeds” in which he sang the part of the cantor. The choir provided the antiphon. Dr. Loñieta Cornwall, Assistant Professor of Music at Shaw University, accompanied Leake.
