Ethics Bowl - 2/12/12

Shaw Students Compete in Local Ethics Bowl Competition 


February 10, 2012 – Six Shaw students will compete in the North Carolina Independent Colleges and Universities (NCICU) inaugural Ethics Bowl competition this weekend, February 10-11, 2012. The debate will focus on “Ethics in the Workplace.” 

Shaw team members include: 


·         Solomon Hughes, ’14 - Accounting and Math  

·         Kendrick King, ’15 - Political Science 

·         Brandon Kornegay, ’13 - Business Administration  

·         Chantel Parrish, ’15 - Birth to Kindergarten  

·         Unique Staggers, ’15 - Mass Communication 

·         William Thomas, ’14 - Religion & Philosophy    


Shaw will compete against students from 13 other independent colleges and universities in North Carolina. The final round of debate and trophy presentation will be held Saturday from 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. in the Jones Chapel at Meredith College. 

The competition will include teams of students from Campbell University, Gardner-Webb University, High Point University, Livingstone College, Mars Hill College, Meredith College, Methodist University, Montreat College, Mount Olive College, St. Andrews University, Salem College, Wake Forest University and Wingate University.  Each institution will have a team of four to six students competing in the debate.
