Professor Bugg Participates in McGraw-Hill Symposium
March 1, 2012 – Bernard Bugg, Assistant Professor of Accounting at Shaw University, was selected to attend the Cost Accounting Teaching and Technology Symposium in Napa, California. Sponsored by McGraw-Hill/Irwin, a leading global financial information and education company, the symposium brings together approximately 15-20 instructors from various regions across the country to focus on the Cost Accounting education course.
The symposium gives accounting instructors the opportunity to discuss critical issues, exchange ideas, evaluate various teaching tools, and learn from each other in a unique open forum. In addition, participants have the opportunity to explore how technology is providing new avenues for students and instructors to access content, study, interact, and assess with greater flexibility, transparency, and success. The McGraw-Hill/Irwin Cost Accounting Team selected Bugg to attend because of his innovation in the classroom, professional development, and care about teaching cost accounting students.
The symposium begins today and runs through March 4. Topics include, “Goals and Challenges in Teaching Cost Accounting,” “Incorporating Global Examples and Current Practice into the Cost Accounting Classroom” and “The Future of Cost Accounting: Integrating Emerging Topics.”
