Shaw Hosts IAC's Worldquest Competition

May 16, 2013 - Shaw University hosted the International Affairs Council's annual Worldquest Competition during the spring semester. Worldquest is a nation-wide international knowledge competition for high school students.

Eight teams from various schools around the state gathered in Shaw's historic Estey Hall to test their knowledge about international affairs, geography and culture. Teams came from Crossroads Charter High School, Millbrook High School, North Carolina School of Science and Math, Ravenscroft School, and Union Pines High School. The NC School of Science beat out the competition to win the Worldquest title. Following the event, the teams enjoyed lunch in the school's dining hall.

The International Affairs Council (IAC) is a community-based organization that champions knowledge and understanding of world affairs and culture in the Research Triangle region.  They plan strategic itineraries for international leaders to meet with local leaders and exchange ideas and best practices; host thought-provoking programs to inform North Carolina citizens about global affairs; and support K-12 international education activities.
