Miss Shaw University and Court
Miss Shaw University - 2015-2016
Destinee Regeen Williams is a senior, athletic training major from Miami, Florida. She is the daughter of Miriam and Kenlee Thomas. Destinee has always been an involved student who enjoys showing her school spirit and pride. After receiving a track and field scholarship, Destinee was predestined to continue her education at Shaw University.
Since her first step onto the campus of Shaw University, Destinee has been a very active Bear. She served as Miss Sophomore 2013- 2014, Junior Class Secretary 2014-2015, Vice President-Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC), and two-times MVP for Shaw University’s Track and Field team. She currently serves as President of the Student Athletic Advisory Committee and Miss Shaw University. Destinee will pursue a second bachelor’s degree in nursing at Duke University and will further her education at Emory University, where she will obtain her master’s degree as a physician assistant. Her passion for community service, student involvement, and bear pride is at the root of her campaign.
Destinee is an active member of Watts Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, Raleigh, NC, where she currently serves on the first aid ministry. She is a firm believer that “the best way to find yourself is to love yourself in service.”
Miss Shaw University's Court
Miss Shaw University's court consists of all the Kings and Queens at Shaw University. They represent the ideals of the young men and women who attend this illustrious institution. During their reign of service, Miss Shaw University and her Court collectively participate in several philanthropic and educational endeavors. They also produce on-campus programs that benefit the Shaw University community.
