Miss Shaw University - 2013-2014

On Monday, October 14, 2013 Dominique Lewis was crowned Miss Shaw University 2013-2014. 

As Miss Shaw, Lewis plans to make a difference as she LEADs by example through leadership, energy, accessibility, and dedication. Her sister, Ashley Lewis-Cofer, inspired her service project of her platform centered on being an advocate and bringing awareness to Shaw about Lupus and its effect on the African American community. Lewis and her court will raise money and provide a donation to the Lupus Foundation of America during their annual 5k Lupus Awareness run in April.

Lewis is currently serving as the Vice President of the Alpha Rho Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, a member of the Honor’s College, Alpha Chi Honor’s Society, and a peer mentor to freshmen. Lewis is a graduating senior majoring in Psychology and minoring in Aerospace Studies. She is a cadet in Air Force ROTC through North Carolina State University’s crosstown program and will commission as a Second Lieutenant upon graduation. While in the Air Force she will be a Personnel Officer and will pursue her master’s degree in Counseling Psychology, as her future goal is to enter into the Healthcare Field of the Air Force as a Psychologist. 

Miss Shaw University's Court

Miss Shaw University's court consists of all the Kings and Queens at Shaw University. They represent the ideals of the young men and women who attend this illustrious institution. During their reign of service, Miss Shaw University and her Court collectively participate in several philanthropic and educational endeavors. They also produce on-campus programs that benefit the Shaw University community.
