Major in Exercise Science: Fitness and Wellness (B.S.)

The bachelor of science degree in exercise science with a concentration in fitness and wellness is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills to enter into the health and wellness industry. Exercise Science is the systematic study of the mechanisms underlying human movement exercise, and physical activity. This encompasses aspects from the disciplines of human anatomy, physiology, neuroscience, psychology, motor control and biomechanics. An individual studying exercise science should have a strong interest in applying scientific principles to a variety of human movement, exercise and physical activity settings. Students will develop skills in critical thinking, research, and writing.

Students will also gain valuable skills and knowledge in the following areas:
