Shaw U’s four research centers serve as hubs of innovation on campus, working to solve some of the most pressing issues facing our communities and society at large—from racial injustice, to barriers to Black entrepreneurship.

Center for Racial and Social Justice

CRSJ builds on Shaw U’s history as a leader in the justice movement. Students work with faculty on scholarly research that shapes policy and action for a more just and equitable future.

Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center

IEC works to boost innovative entrepreneurship and reduce minority unemployment. Its training programs support Shaw students and Raleigh’s aspiring black business owners.

Center for Early Childhood Education, Development and Research

CDC (Child Development Center) is a leader in early childhood education research and training. The center serves families, along with faculty and students.

Center for Teaching and Learning

CTL advances innovative, evidence-based pedagogy in education. Center programs provide Shaw U faculty with skills, mentorship and research opportunities to help students succeed.
