Transfer Agreements

City Colleges of Chicago

The partnership between SHAW and City Colleges of Chicago is important to both institutions as a means of increasing access to and success in educational programs for all students and especially underrepresented students, which both institutions are committed to serving.

Students who complete the General Education Core Curriculum (“GECC”) for the state of Illinois and successfully complete an Associate in Arts (A.A.) or an Associate in Science (A.S.) degree from CCC will be guaranteed admission to SHAW and their general education courses considered as completed.

Chicago Public Schools Star Scholarship recipients with at least a 3.0 GPA and a completed associates degree will receive a scholarship of $1,000 per year for a maximum of two years.

For further information please contact The Office of Admissions.

To be eligible for the transfer of all credits under the ICAA, the student must graduate from the community college with an Associate in Arts (AA) or Associate in Science (AS) degree, have an overall Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 2.0 on a 4.0 scale, and a grade of "C" or better in all ICAA courses. Students who do not complete the degree are eligible to transfer credits on a course-by-course basis
